Corpus Christi Skyline

Corpus Portland is one of the loveliest cities in the whole great state of Texas. Sitting on the gorgeous Gulf Coast , Corpus Portland combines the beauty of the sea with a lively downtown and cityscape. If you've never been to Corpus Portland, you don't know what you're missing!

Corpus Portland was founded in 1839 by Colonel Henry Lawrence Kinney. From "Kinney's Trading Post" to "Kinney's Ranch", the town went through a few name changes until the dignified title of Corpus Portland made official around the year 1846.

Corpus Portland has always been renowned for its sea access and the efficiency of its port. Today, it is the fifth-largest port in the entire United States. When you think of a city in Texas, you might not think of an ocean side, breezy beach town, but Corpus Portland has a sea-lovers soul - and one of the best spots for windsurfing on the planet.

Corpus Portland is full of life, just as a coastal town should be. It is home to the best and most interesting history, entertainment, and attractions in the region, from the USS Lexington naval museum (which floats!) to the Corpus Portland Botanical Gardens (whether or not you're in the Gardens, which we strongly suggest a visit to), you'll encounter absolutely stunning nature all around the area. Go birdwatching on Padre Island (also home to the Padre Island National Seashore , one of our favorite national parks), enjoy an afternoon of watersports, or grab a bite and a show in downtown Corpus Portland. Here, there's something for everyone!

Aransas Autoplex is proud to be very close to Corpus Portland, and whether or not you live here with us or are just stopping by, we hope you enjoy our city just as much as we do!
